Best Buy has jumped the gun somewhat by posting its pre-order pages for the second-generation Nexus 7 tablet ahead of its official announcement later today. It has included the full specifications, press images from every angle and US prices for both the 16GB and 32GB models.
We've heard much of this before, but the specifications and features for the Nexus 7 2 include a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Pro S4 8064 processor, 2GB of RAM, Adreno 320 graphics, 7-inch 1920 x 1080 Full HD IPS LCD screen, and a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera. A 1.2-megapixel video camera is on the front.
The site confirms that it will indeed come with Android 4.3 from the box and that it will also be called Jelly Bean. The new version of Android is also due to be announced later today.
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 are both built-in, but no 3G or 4G yet as the ones listed are the non-SIM models. Storage, like with the original Nexus 7, comes in either 16GB or 32GB flavours. There is no HDMI output, according to Best Buy.
The site lists the new device's measurements at 114.3 x 200.6 x 7.6mm and its weight as 317.5g.
Prices are $269.99 for the 32GB new Nexus 7, $229.99 for the 16GB model.
