Xbox One first-party games set at £50 RRP, likely to be same as Xbox 360 at retail Jul 24th 2013, 09:45

Microsoft has set the official recommended retail price for its Xbox One games at £49.99. That's not a million miles away from the RRP of Xbox 360 games and, once they hit retailers, they are likely to be almost identically priced.
That is the price set for Microsoft's own titles, other publishers may set their own RRPs higher. For example, Amazon lists FIFA 14 for the Xbox One at £54.99 on pre-order although that might drop as it gets closer to release. It's something that could affect the entire Xbox One games pricing structure throughout.
Now that the bar has been set lower for games such as Dead Rising 3, Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse: Son of Rome and Kinect Sports: Rivals, others might follow or their titles will look heavily overpriced in comparison.
The move could also determine how much Sony charges for its first-party next-generation games. Its games are listed on Amazon at £55, but it has yet to confirm its own recommended retail prices.
